Motor Mouth Christmas: Eat and Sing to You Heart's Content

- December 23, 2013, Monday.

- Some of my high school friends decided to meet up for Christmas, and coincidentally, the 6 of us who were able to meet today were the five ones who met yesterday for a friend's wedding, plus another friend from the bunch.

- Still sleepy, tired, and somewhat full from yesterday's wedding, we met at Starbucks Lucky Chinatown before riding the shuttle to SM MOA. We got off at Choice Korean Buffet, since everyone, except me, hasn't tried it yet. It was my first time to eat there during lunch. From my observation, the speed of refilling the food was slower, as compared to dinner time. Since we went during lunch, and on a non-holiday weekday, we only had to pay a mere 490php. It's a cheap buffet, but definitely a good "choice."

- After lunch we went to MOA, and had karaoke at Center Stage. It's located at the bay-side area  right outside the mall, and beside Movie Stars Cafe. Center Stage has a hi-tech song-searching program, but it was definitely more hassling than looking for a song using a songbook.

Oh well. Haha.

- Strangely we finished our supposed "afternoon hangout" around 8:30 in the evening. So much for an afternoon. I'm glad we all got home safe, and not later than the time we left for home. At least we got to maximize our time together before Christmas.

The New Discovery in Choice Korean Buffet

- August 9, 2013, Friday, Eid ul-Fitr.

- It's been a while since the last time I've hung out with my college carpool group. Since today was a holiday, thanks to Muslim brothers and sisters (Happy Eid!) we were able to set a dinner meeting where a number of us were available.

- Danica, Charmaine, Mich, and I, plus Denz and Danica's sister Diandra met at Lucky Chinatown at 6, and drove off to Choice Korean Buffet at Macapagal for dinner. The six of us were tighly packed in one space near the buffet tables, but our coziness brought us closer to each other - literally.

- For dessert, Mich jokingly suggested that we try roasting marshmallows over the grill, like what campers do during a bonfire night. Her suggestion worked like a charm, and it was so obvious that none of us had thought of that before. We enjoyed the later half of our dinner time roasting marshmallows and eating them with ice cream. Too bad we couldn't do smores before there weren't crackers and chocolate syrup available.

- We listened to a Hokkien heavy metal song by Metal 168, a Fil-Chi heavy metal group; it was seriously one of the most hilarious, though ear-bursting songs I've heard in my life. After that, Denz told us ghost stories of Inrtamuros and Ateneo - my kind of thing. Too it was a short dinner meeting, and not all of the gang were there. (Next time though!!)

Pre-Chinese-New-Year Agenda 2013

- February 8, 2013, Friday.

- My high school alma mater decided to have a "wash day" today, an encouraged students to wear red, and/or Chinese costumes to school, in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year. It just so happened that I needed to be in my alma mater for the School of Music's concert recital, so I decided to play along with the school's wash-day plan. I wore a Manchurian-inspired attire, complete with accessories and my hat's fake braid.

- After an afternoon of finger-torturing rehearsals, I went home, changed my pants, and went on to my Korean-buffet dinner with some pals I haven't seen for a while. I decided to keep my red Chinese polo on since it's almost Chinese New Year anyway. I prepared my tummy the whole day for the buffet, and I felt like I was able to make the most out of the 580php I paid. Korea Choice Buffet (especially its beer-battered tempura) never fails to satisfy me. I ate too much that people might I'm a Buddha mascot for the new year. Oh well, advanced happy Chinese New Year to everyone!! :D:D:D:D

Endless Love (for Korean Food): Korean Buffet Night

- My friends, Dorenett and Christiane, and I wanted to meet up again. As always, it was hard thinking of places to go to, since we feel like we had eaten everywhere within the Manila area; we didn't feel too adventurous this time, and opted to go somewhere nearer. I thought of Choice Korean Buffet, since I was craving for Korean food, and the price was very reasonably for a buffet restaurant (580 per person, bottomless drinks included.) Later on, we discovered that Christiane was craving for Korean food since January this year, and it was only tonight that she was able to indulge in Korean food again.

- I arrived at Dorenett's house at 5 in the afternoon, with Christiane arriving a minute after I did. We were asked to wait at the office area, where we saw a now-big Dione (she was a baby when I last saw her,) and her little sister Wreane. It's the first time that Christiane and I saw Wreane. Wreane doesn't do much, but she's adorable. Dione is now very hyper, and she doesn't cry anymore when I approach her.

- Dor, Christiane, and I left the house moments later, and arrived at the restaurant at an early 5:50. The restaurant opens for dinner at 5:30 to 11:00pm, and at 11:00am to 2:30pm for lunch. Since we arrived while the sun was still up, we all had a more leisurely trip around the buffet table, while not a lot of customers had arrived.

- Both Christiane and Dorenet loved the kamote slices the best among all the things that we grilled. I don't really know why, but they just couldn't stop getting kamote slices - even if the samsyupsal and all the other grillables seemed to be the "specialties" of the restaurant.

- Overall, we had a total of around 9 plates to 12 plates of food. Although full, and tired, we didn't skip our ice cream dessert.The weather was too hot, despite an short and unnoticeable rain visit.

- We paid the bill soon, and walked around the area before getting in Christiane's car for a long drive home. Traffic was bad, but it gave us more time to talk (and abuse Christiane's car air conditioning system.) Until now, I still want to roll on ice because of the weather, and the sluggishness from too much food. Why not roll on Korea's winter ice then?? That seems to be a good idea. :>:>:>:>
